Betrayed

So all day today I thought it was Tuesday.  Imagine my surprise that it was Wednesday and tomorrow is THURSDAY!!  My favorite day of the week.  I love the promise of Friday that is wrapped up in Thursday like a little present.
I don’t have anything really planned for today, been working on a couple of things and trying to fit in “words with friends!!”  But I have been reading the large devotional Sparkling Gem’s by Rick Renner.  It is an excellent study, devotional all in one.
This month he is going through different things with Jesus’ death and resurrection (because it’s that season).  The last few day’s he has been talking about Judas.  I don’t know if anyone else wondered, but I always wondered how he could betray Jesus after being one of his disciples and following Jesus, seeing all these miracles and wonders that Jesus performed.
Rick goes back into the passage where Judas was upset because Mary poured the expensive perfume at Jesus’ feet (John 13:3-7).  This opened the door for the devil to establish a foothold.
This is how the devil works in our lives, we get mad, jealous, or think things should be done a certain way.  The devil works his way into our heart and if we allow it, he will have a foothold before you know it.  It is important to be accountable to God with our actions and reactions.  We won’t be perfect here, but we can constantly evolve and conform to the way God calls us to live.
